Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Book Publisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the publishing industry, particularly within the UK market, and a proven track record of working with authors and book publishing companies. This role involves overseeing the entire publishing process, from acquiring manuscripts to managing the production and marketing of books.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire and evaluate manuscripts, assessing their market potential and fit with our publishing goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with authors, agents, and other publishing professionals.
- Oversee the editorial process, including working with editors, designers, and production staff to ensure high-quality book production.
- Manage the marketing and promotional strategies for each publication, collaborating with the marketing team to maximize book visibility and sales.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging market opportunities, especially within the UK.
- Ensure all projects meet deadlines and budget requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Publishing, English, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a book publishing role, preferably with a focus on the UK market.
- Strong editorial skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with digital publishing platforms and ebook formats is a plus.
